And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11
You and I are faced with opposition from the evil one daily. We are bombarded by thoughts, the media, people, lack and health issues to name a few. Sometimes in the midst of a battle we can forget that Jesus already Won it is up to us to maintain what He purchased for us.
The enemy wants us to get off track and I believe focus on our own shortcomings and lose focus of Jesus. God is for us not against us! He’s Mad about us not Mad at US.
Recently, I heard a song which has become a favorite called Testimony. This song talks about the greatest thing I’ve seen God do is save me and write my name in heaven.
God has done so many spectacular things in the earth but the greatest act of God is transforming mankind through Jesus. Sometimes we forget what we use to be and what God has done for us personally.
The passage in Revelations says, “they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” When you and I are in the battle for our souls begin to remember what God has done for you and testify.
Testify simply means to talk about what God has done in your life. We can be general by testifying about what Jesus did for mankind which is powerful. But in this passage it say “their testimony” which personalizes it.
Personal testimony is letting the devil know we are new through the blood of Jesus. What has God delivered your from? What has God healed you from? Tell somebody!
Our testimony has more power than we realize and we need to share it. Now I do want to say this testimony isn’t just what God did at the moment you first believed but what has He continually done for you.
Testimony is ongoing, God didn’t just save us but He continues to care for us as we walk with Him. So today ask yourself what God has done for you and share that with someone who needs to hear it. Just remember that the focus is on Jesus not you. We don’t need to hear how terrible you were for 20 minutes and 5 minutes of how you were delivered. Share Jesus!
